At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Aisle Containment Business Development Specialist to join the Data Power & Control Team in a Remote Location. Client-facing sales position, focused on closing the largest / most complex prospects for Legrand Cabinet and Containment business unit. In addition to traditional sales account management, this role requires the Containment Specialist to work alongside project planners, specifiers and authorities having jurisdiction -- developing a collaborative, consultative relationship. He or she must completely understand the client's data center infrastructure environment, in order to legitimately serve as a \"trusted advisor". By providing insight and expertise to the client, he or she can simultaneously assist the client -- while maximizing the likelihood of a successful sale. In addition, the Containment Specialist often also serves as the primary point of contact to extremely large, Fortune 100 clients on behalf of Legrand. He or she must therefore also skillfully execute standard sales processes:
  • developing opportunities;
  • understanding procurement and sourcing complexities;
  • solutions selling (\"Challenger\" sales model);
  • uncovering budgetary or logistical limitations / hurdles;
  • objection handling


  • What Will You Do?
    • Engage in New Account acquisition focusing on large Fortune 500 data center clients.
    • Meet with key customers and decision makers to develop effective relationships. Be an end-user resource to help develop solutions.
    • Design, develop, enhance and execute business and marketing plans to maximize sales and profits and overall customer satisfaction.
    • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
    • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
    • Manage customer accounts by fostering excellent communication internally and externally, and through strict adherence to channel rules of engagement.
    • Lead solution development efforts that best address end-user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company and channel partner personnel.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on status and performance of customer accounts within the territory.
    • Grow annual sales of the Legrand CCB Containment portfolio.
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to attain Tier 1 sales prospects
    • Assist in -- and occasionally become the primary sales contact for -- major account sales (for Legrand CCB Containment projects.)

    Qualifications


    Required Skills

    EDUCATION:
    • Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience

    EXPERIENCE:
    • 5+ years of successful sales experience in IT Infrastructure, Data Center Facilities and Ops
    • Strong technical expertise in electrical and mechanical aspects of data center infrastructure is required
    • Outstanding communication skills and remote presentation skills required

    SKILLS/KNOWELDGE/ABILITIES:
    • Existing relationships with data center infrastructure managers / directors / VPs.
    • Strong ability and inclination for new business "hunting", prospecting, cold calling, territory development and account management
    • Proven track record of quota achievement thru pipeline development and high win rate
    • Training and experience with strategic selling
    • Fluent in CRM systems such as Salesforce.com
