At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in West Hartford, Connecticut. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing vendor invoices and routing invoices for approval.

What Will You Do?

• Manual Invoice Processing: Print Invoices from AP email box. Process indirect invoices which cannot be managed in electronic invoice processing. Enter data directly into finance system. Invoices are then filed.
• Input OPOS invoices and route for approval.
• Review vendor statements and work to resolve invoices with no receipts.
• Create month-end AP accrual entries.
• Process and create freight payments and remittances from third party.
• Special projects as needed. Some scanning of AP indirect invoices into Webdocs and Dataworks. Assist with 1099 reporting/SOX requirements.
• Audit and process expense reimbursements through Concur.
• Perform other similar and related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills

EDUCATION:

• B.S. in accounting, finance, or related, or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

• Five years experience preferred in fast paced Accounts Payable environment to fully understand flow and proper business document requirements.

SKILLS/KNOWELDGE/ABILITIES:

• Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities.
• Requires close attention to detail and ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors. Knowledge of 3 Way Match process.
• Strong data entry skills, ability to communicate effectively by e-mail or phone. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
• Company specific accounting and finance software and systems a plus (Dataworks, Fortis, AP Scanning).
