At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join the Data Center Power & Control Team in Farmingdale, NY. This position is responsible for direct supervision of all production operations in assigned department(s). This includes assisting in the interviewing, hiring, training and performance appraisal of employees as well as planning, assigning and directing work.

What Will You Do?
  • Accountable for meeting production plan, and in doing so, plan and control the efficient use of manpower, machines and other resources to meet and continuously improve upon established standards
  • Ensure manufactured components meet engineering specifications and quality standards
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory transaction according to established processes
  • Determine staffing requirements and make recommendations to senior leadership regarding employee salary, performance and shift coverage
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Analyze processes and procedures to improve efficiency
  • Manage labor relations practices within the scope of company policy
  • Provide effective leadership, guidance and coaching to ensure optimal personnel effectiveness and engagement
  • Promote cross-training and continuous improvement for all employees
  • Assure equipment and tooling is routinely and preventatively maintained
  • Assure a clean and safe working environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Required Skills

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 2 years effectively leading others. Sheet metal manufacturing experience is required.

SKILLS/KNOWELDGE/ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office is preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP system is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills are required
  • Forklift certification is preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
