At a Glance
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Engineer to join the Wattstopper Team in Los Angeles, CA.
To establish, grow, and maintain a strong presence within the specification and Design Build Contractor communities. This is accomplished by educating and informing all stakeholders on the value of designing, installing and using WattStopper and Legrand Controls Systems and products as a key system element for High Performance Buildings. Be a trusted and valued resource to the specification community by effectively communicating requirements and changes in energy codes and how it applies to building control systems. In-depth knowledge of WattStopper and Legrand Control systems products and integration of digital control systems using a variety of data protocols. Expert knowledge of best practice designs, commission and tuning procedures in maximize energy efficiency in a building, including the understanding of the interaction between electrical and mechanical systems. The main objective of this position is to secure High Performance Building projects for WattStopper. The successful candidate is accountable for meeting and exceeding their assigned quota and KPIs.

Basic Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of sales and/or marketing excellence
Preferred Skills
- 10 plus years experience in the electrical/lighting/construction industry
- Must have completed one of the following certifications: CEM, Niagara AX, CSI, CDT, LC or LEED GA.
- Extensive experience with lighting and/or building control systems, including design, installation and commissioning process. Understand and communicate control system " sequence of operation" narrative analysis and design. In-depth knowledge of Tridium's Niagara platform and BACnet protocol.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and work remotely. Must have demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple functional roles and across organizational boundaries.
- Proficient in negotiation and influencing skills in both design and bid stages of projects. Able to creatively demonstrate new products and energy code concepts. Lead construction project teams through the selling process.
- Lead and be a trusted resource with the creation of specification documents including engineering drawings and submittals. Must be able to provide specification support for sections 25 and 26. Perform engineering and budgetary analysis including specification writing and take-off assistance. Partner with sales team for complete market penetration.
- Strong computer skills, CRM, proficient with PowerPoint, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in one-on-one or group presentation situations. Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and industry contacts.
